How do I register to vote?

Wisconsin requires voter registration prior to a person being allowed to vote.

You have several options to register (all options require a proof of residence document):

1.  By Mail  Voter Registration Application

2.  In Person  Voter Registration Application

3.  Online at myvote.wi.gov

4.  At the Polling Place on Election Day (AVOID ADDITIONAL TIME WAITING IN LINE on Election Day and REGISTER EARLY!)

 How do I vote absentee?

If you are not already registered, you will need to register to vote before an absentee ballot can be sent to you.

Online Request

Go to myvote.wi.gov.  Click on the blue circle labeled "Vote Absentee".  You will be prompted to enter your first and last name and date of birth.  Then click on the green "Search" box.  If your registration is found, your name and address will show, and then you will click on the blue box labeled "Request Absentee Ballot". The website will easily guide you through to complete your request.

Request by Mail

Download the Application For Absentee Ballot. Complete the form and mail it to the Town Clerk.  Please include a copy of an acceptable form of photo ID unless you are an "indefinitely confined" voter due to age, illness, infirmity or disability.  Absentee applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Thursday before the election in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you. The completed ballot must be received in the clerk's office by 8:00 p.m. on election day in order to be counted. Please verify all information is completed correctly and all required signatures are included on the absentee ballot certification envelope prior to returning it to the Clerk's office.

Contact the Town Clerk to make an appointment for in-person absentee voting. In-person absentee voting begins 14 days prior to each election. Ballots requested in-person may NOT be removed from the clerk's office by the voter.

Please refer to the Wisconsin Elections Commission website for more information.
