Property Tax Payment FAQs

For more information regarding property tax payments, contact the Town Treasurer.

Where do I mail my tax payment?

Tax payments can be mailed to P.O. Box 857, Portage, WI  53901.  Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive a receipt.

Can I make my payment in person?

The Town Treasurer will collect taxes in person at the Pacific Town Hall and issue dog licenses one Friday evening in December and one Saturday morning/early afternoon in January each tax year. Tax payments can also be made at Community Bank of Portage at 2930 New Pinery Road in Portage until January 31, which is very convenient in that the check is immediately deposited, and you are issued a receipt.  You must bring your tax bill with you when making your payment at the bank.  The bank does not issue dog licenses.

Can I make my payment online?

Yes.  In cooperation with the Town of Pacific, Point & Pay charges a convenience fee for property tax payments.  The convenience fee covers the cost of processing the payment transaction. The current convenience fees are as follows: 2.39% for credit/debit cards ($1.50 minimum) OR $1.50 for an eCheck (electronic check). The parcel number is needed to continue with your payment, this can be found on your tax bill.  Access the Columbia County Land Records System to view a copy of your tax bill.  View a sample tax bill to see where you can find your parcel number.
